Women and Resistance Training

Over the decades, we had been convinced at one point that cardio is the only thing we need as ladies because it might promote faster weight loss. Many women are also horrified sat the thought of looking "bulky"!
Well, both of those things are not really true. Not for the average woman trying to get healthy and strong!
We need to stop thinking that as soon as we pick up that 20 lb dumbbell that my arms are going to be jacked like Arnold. I mean, let’s be real, we love to have a nice muscular shape right? Suns out, guns out!!
In all seriousness, resistance training is going to accomplish something on a different level that we can’t see: Bone density! As women age, we want to prevent our bones from becoming so fragile and we want to retain as much healthy bone structure as possible. We can help this by resistance training! Lifting heavy things a few times a week can really make an impact as we grow older.
